: Tattoo after care
Follow the instructions on this page for trouble free healing of your new tattoo.
- Remove bandage the morning after the tattoo was done, if bandage sticks, soak it off. - Wash tattoo gently but thoroughly with no soap or mild soap and your fingertips only. - Lightly pat dry tattoo with clean towel or paper towel. Do not Rub it. - You can wash your tattoo a few times in the first few days if you feel it necessary or if it is oozing at all. Do this gently and never put moisture on it right after, let it dry out. - After the first couple days, use a light unscented, mild lotion. Stay away from Aloe, Lanolin, Vit. E, etc. We recommend Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion or Lubriderm, the plainest you can find. - You may choose to substitute lotion with polysporin ointment (green label ONLY). Do this if your tattoo seems irritated or if you've used it before. Not sure? Whichever of the above you decide to use, avoid overuse, only apply it when tattoo is dry or itchy and then only SPARINGLY. Less is more in this case! Too much moisture will cause scabbing. - It is normal for tattoos to become flaky, itchy and annoying while they heal. DO NOT pick, rub, scratch or mess with the tattoo. Or you will lose colour and you will be sad. - While your tattoo is healing (3 weeks is safe) AVOID pools, swimming, hot tubs, and baths. Showering is OK. Do not cover the tattoo in the shower. - Sun is not your new tattoos best friend, it WILL fade your tattoo. Keep it right out of sun for at least 3 weeks, then use a 45spf UVA and UVB sunscreen on it. Tanning beds will fade it 10x faster, Guaranteed! Be smart about this one, folks! Sun = old-looking tattoos! - If you have any questions or concerns AT ALL, don't hesitate to Email:alin_ra666@yahoo.co.th Please do not listen to well-meaning but uneducated friends.
